Shipping policy

    We Deliver Australia Wide*

    We use Australia's leading courier companies to ensure your order is delivered quickly and directly to your door. Shipping estimates can be viewed on the shopping cart page, once an item has been added to the cart. Final shipping costs are calculated at checkout unless stated in the item description to contact us directly for a quote.

    Shipping costs vary depending on product weight and your location. Any items advertised as 'Free Delivery' are delivered to your door at no charge.

    Tom's Small Engines reserves the right to charge higher freight costs on bigger and bulkier items after the item is purchased to align with constantly changing freight rates. If this is the case, we will contact you straight away to discuss, and if both parties cannot agree mutually, you will be fully refunded.

    Unfortunately, as good as our couriers are, they can't get everywhere. If this is the case, we will call you prior to shipment to discuss the options of a mutual drop-off point, or we will offer a full refund on the purchase.

    Shipping and Dispatch Times

    We maintain a comprehensive inventory of items in stock and strive to ship all orders as soon as payment is received. Orders are not shipped on weekends or public holidays.

    Once dispatched, you will receive a unique tracking number via email to trace your delivery online.

    Approximate Delivery Times:

    • Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide: 1-4 business days after dispatch
    • Brisbane, Canberra, Geelong, Newcastle: 2-5 business days after dispatch
    • Perth, Hobart, Darwin: 3-7 business days after dispatch
    • Non-Metro VIC, NSW, SA: 3-7 business days after dispatch
    • Non-Metro WA, TAS, QLD: 4-10 business days after dispatch
    • Far North WA, Far North QLD, NT: 7-14 business days after dispatch

    Dispatch from the warehouse: Approx. 1-5 business days.

    Note: Delivery times are provided by our carriers and are estimates only. Delays may occur during peak periods or due to factors outside the carriers' control.

    A re-delivery fee will be charged for items that are undeliverable or returned to us due to an incorrect delivery address or unsuccessful delivery. Items will only be delivered during normal business hours (9 am to 5 pm AEST) on weekdays. Delivery is not available on weekends, public holidays, or after business hours.

    Backorders

    In some cases, we may be temporarily out of stock on a particular item. We will either:

    1. Hold your entire order for a few days until the item is in stock,
    2. Or ship a partial order and send the back-ordered items separately when available.

    If we ship a partial order, your credit card will be charged in full at the time of first shipment.

    If your order will be delayed more than 5 business days, we will notify you of the expected shipment date via email or phone.

    Undeliverable or Refused Shipments

    If a shipment is returned to us because:

    • The address you provided is undeliverable or incorrect, you will be responsible for the full cost of shipping to a corrected address. We will contact you to obtain a correct address and approval for the additional shipping charge.
    • You refuse delivery for any reason, we will refund your purchase price, less a 15% restocking fee.

    We will not attempt to ship your order a second time.
